What a month it was!

First of all, thank you for joining us! Our first month online was just spectacular because of all of you.
Here’s what we’ve done since we went online in the beginning of March:

We published new videos

March 10. Bellydance around the world. Episode 3 – Greece

Energetic shaabi choreo, full of emotions and gestures, which illustrate the lyrics of the song. This choreography is made from simple movements, but the difficulty here is the correct communication of song meaning and dancer’s mood.
At the end of the choreography you will find the improvisation part, where a dancer can play with audience.

March 16. Eskanderani choreography by Osama Mimi

In the beginning of the video there is a small lecture about this style and the basics of work with melaya. Choreography is made in a very coquettish and elegant style. There is a lyrics translation provided (for subscribers only), which will help you to relay correctly the meaning of the song with the gestures.

March 21. Mejance choreography by Julia Farid

This dynamic choreography includes an elegant entrance with the veil and a folklore Saidi part. Along with the change of music, the mood of the dance changes. And Julia explains it in every part of this video.
This choreography can be also used for learning dance technique, because it’s very saturated with various elements.

March 26. Drum solo technique by Jamilah: Bellywork

In this second video of series of technical video from Jamilah you will find the detailed explanation of belly work technique with the drill of every element with music. At the end of video there are 2 combinations with learned elements to remember them better.
You can use any suitable music to drill the elements from this video.

March 31. Nubain explained by Osama Mimi

The Master of Egyptian folklore dance Osama Mimi shares with you his knowledge of Nubian dance theory and history. He speaks about the history of the style, the manner of performing, dance rules and the meaning, about costumes and music as well as the movements of male and female performers and many more!
The video is illustrated with photographs and videos of the dance.
